Welcome to the 17th APCPZ

  • We are delighted to welcome you to the 17th Asian-Pacific Congress for Parasitic Zoonoses (APCPZ). This conference serves as a platform to renew collaborations among experts in East Asian countries and to foster new connections among young researchers.
  • Our approach to zoonotic diseases embodies the principles of One Health, integrating medical and veterinary parasitology to prepare for the emergence of potential future pandemics. This field of research plays a vital role in global infectious disease preparedness.
  • We sincerely hope this congress will provide meaningful opportunities for exchange and collaboration.
  • All members of the Department of Global Infectious Diseases, Kanazawa Univ. have been working together to prepare for this event. We warmly welcome you to Kanazawa and look forward to seeing you here.

About APCPZ

  • Asian Pacific Congress for Parasitic Zoonoses (APCPZ) was established in 1990, when the 1st APCPZ conference was held in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. The president of this inaugural conference was Professor Tomio Yamaguchi, an emeritus professor at Hirosaki University.
  • Since then, the APCPZ has been held biennially, alternating primarily between Japan and Taiwan. In 2010, the congress was hosted for the first time in a third country—Incheon, Korea—reflecting the growing participation of Korean parasitologists. Since that time, APCPZ has continued to rotate among these three countries every two years, except during the COVID-19 pandemic period.
  • The APCPZ serves as a vital platform that brings together medical and veterinary parasitologists from East Asian countries and around the world to exchange knowledge and share the latest developments in the field of parasitic zoonoses.
